Honoring Our Veterans on Veterans Day

November 11, 2019

Veterans day is a day to remember and honor all the brave men and women that have served their country honorably. On this day we should pay tribute to those that have sacrificed and given unselfishly of themselves and their families to protect our freedoms, our democracy, and our independence. Here are a few ways you can honor our veterans!

The VA medical center has recently achieved a 3-star SAIL rating by the Department of Veterans Affairs and is doing a great job of caring for our local veterans.  Help support our veterans by checking out the volunteer opportunities available that help make life a little easier for those veterans that are receiving treatment. Donate to organizations that help and support our troops. This can be by collecting items for care packages, making a cash donation, or simply donating your time by writing a letter. Click on the following links for a few ways you can donate now!

Thank a service a member and let them know you are thankful for their service. Ask them about their service!  How long did they serve? Were they Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, Air Force, Guard, or Reserves?  Do they come from a military family? Where did they serve the majority of your time in the service? Have a conversation and learn about their story.
